A Little Bit of Fun: Get to Know her Name…or Names

“Hello” again from Michele with the only one L. Yes, the One L Michele® or the 1L Michele®. Not “Michelle.” Not “Michael.” Not “Mitchell.” And not “Muchele.” (Someone did do that.) To humor others, sometimes I write my first name as “MicheLe.”  If interested, click About Michele.

Briefly about my first name, my Brooklyn, New York born and bred parents, who had moved to Southern California after they got married, liked the name, Michele. When I was born in Los Angeles at the Queen of Angels Hospital (nice name for a hospital, huh?), they were going to choose a confusing name, but they picked Michele for its originality and uniqueness. They thought it was slightly different, clever, classy and feminine without the “hell.”

Do you know how your first name was chosen? Do you even care? A message just to the Michele’s and Michelle’s…do you know why your name is spelled with one L or two LL’s? Was it due to the Beatle’s song, “Michelle?” Was it because of a loving favorite family member or relative in your family tree? Was it because they liked the name? And now a question only for the one L Michele’s–was your name selected to avoid the “hell” in Michelle?

I have many funny stories about my first name and other first names too. I want to do a TEDx Talk about it and make it so funny that I will be allowed to do a TED Talk.

Enjoy the Your Moral Compass Counts® website. It is a lot of fun and contains information of hope, happiness and humor to encourage people to treat one another with a moral compass of civility, decency, and empathy. The company is also known as the “Brilliant Brand of Behavior.”

Finally, remember this. Your Moral Compass Counts. Kind behavior counts. Do a little something positive every day. A compliment counts. Real listening counts. Tell a joke. Open a door for someone else. A smile matters. Kindness is mental strength, while bullying is the exact opposite. People are happier and live longer if they are kinder, nicer and compassionate. Research shows that.

Remember, Your Moral Compass Counts®…and it does!

You have to help each other or nothing will happen.”
